You Did This For Me?

Verse(s) of the Day:
“17 Every good present and every perfect gift comes from above, from the Father who made the sun, moon, and stars. The Father doesn’t change like the shifting shadows produced by the sun and the moon.
18 God decided to give us life through the word of truth to make us his most important creatures.”
James 1:17-18
“13 May God, the source of hope, fill you with joy and peace through your faith in him. Then you will overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
Romans 15:13
Dare we say such a powerful prayer? Dare we think such thoughts? Could it all be that the hill of the cross is rich with God’s gifts?
Let’s examine God’s gifts. Let’s unwrap these gifts of grace as if - for the first time. And as you touch them - as you feel the timber of the cross and trace the brain of the crown of thorns - pause and listen. Perhaps you will hear Him whisper:
“I did it just for you.”
Just take a moment to think about how powerful it is that our Lord and Savior came to earth to become one of us.
My eyes welled up with tears thinking about it while writing this post.
All the while, knowing that He would be crucified on the cross. He would hang on the cross for 6 hours in suffering. Beaten beyond recognition, spit on, with a crown of thorns on his head. He did this for us.
How powerful is this gift that Christ has bestowed upon us?
Our Heavenly Father doesn’t always give us what we want. But He will absolutely always give us what we need. He gives us safe passage and a safe place to reside for all of eternity.
Key takeaway
→Who has more than we do? Rather than want what others have, shouldn’t we wonder if they have what we do? Hold out your overflowing cup, we have plenty to go around!
→One thing is certain. When the final storm comes and we are safe in the Father’s house, we won’t regret what he didn’t give. You’ll be stunned at what he did!
