Verse(s) of the Day: "1 Brothers and sisters, in view of all we have just shared about God’s compassion, I encourage you to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, dedicated to God and pleasing to him. This kind of worship is appropriate for you. 2 Don’t become like the people of this world. Instead, change the way you think. Then you will always be able to determine what God really wants—what is good, pleasing, and perfect." - Romans 12:1-2
To continue the thoughts of our heart conditions, I wanted to share these verses from Romans to discuss how our external environment can affect our journey with God.
Being interconnected with Christ, heart to heart, means getting away from the ways of this world. It means changing the way you think, the way you see things, and like we said yesterday, the way you react to emotions.
Giving our whole lives to Christ and dedicating our bodies as living sacrifices for His kingdom is simple, but not easy. We know the steps we have to take to get to that point of our lives, but it’s not easy to completely disconnect from the world. In some aspects of life, it may be, but not all aspects.
Key takeaway
-> First, look within your own heart and mind to find the things you need to disconnect from the world. Next, ask God to release you from these worldly desires and values. You will then be able to accept and determine what God wants from us. The good, pleasing, and perfect things of the Kingdom of God.
-> Remember, you are only as good as the weakness around you. Surround yourself with the good things God has given us.
